This bird, characterized by its thick body and long tail, creeps low in vegetation like a mouse, with a rusty brown body, paler orange chest sides, a white throat, chest, and eyebrow, a black eye-stripe, dark rufous-brown crown, long pink legs, and is typically found in dense undergrowth along mountain streams in mature rainforest, known for its explosive, harsh scolding calls.
