Flora Tropica Gardens

The Mission at Natuvu Creek

It also provides assistance with education from pre-kindergarten through high school. Spanning 750 acres, The Mission is located on the eastern coast of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second-largest island. The property includes an extinct volcano that rises to 1,200 feet, lush rain and bamboo forests, and the pristine shores of Buca Bay.
Nakama Hot Springs
Overview: The Nakama Hot Springs in Savusavu, discovered by European settlers in the 19th century, have been a vital resource for the local community, who use the natural geothermal activity to cook foods like root crops, chicken, and meaty bones, benefiting from the efficient cooking process and unique flavor imparted by the hot steamy bubbles. With scientific descriptions dating back to 1864 by American geologist James Dana, the hot springs have long served as a natural cooking hub. In recent times, the Nakama Hot Springs underwent an upgrade, reopening on August 2, 2022, as a national treasure with improved landscaping, stone walls, signage, steps, and seating areas, enhancing both aesthetics and safety. The project involved various partners including the Ministry of Local Government, the Savusavu Town Council, and the Savusavu Tourism Association. Although not as abundant as the Sabeto Hot Springs, small hot spring baths are available at the local health center for controlled bathing in a blend of nutrient-rich hot spring water and cold Fijian waters.
Waterfalls
Vuadomo Waterfall: Just 20 minutes from Savusavu, Vuadomo Waterfall awaits discovery. Visitors begin their journey with a visit to Vuadomo Village to present a sevusevu, a traditional gift of kava, before embarking on a short guided walk to the falls. Once there, they can cool off in the inviting pool, often enjoying the serene spot without crowds.
