Giving Back To The Community
We believe in giving back to the community that has supported us over the years. To mark our 15 year anniversary, we are proud to be donating $15,000 to three deserving local causes this month – the Savusavu Hospital, the Lomani Au Childrens Home and the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center. These organisations are doing incredible work in their respective fields, and we are honoured to support their efforts.
The Savusavu Hospital – This local institution provides vital medical care in the Savusavu area, however major refurbishment and infrastructure improvements are needed to provide the community with safe, modern, and reliable medical care.
Lomani Au Children’s Home – This privately funded orphanage in Rava was established by 3 Australian families. They provide support and refuge to orphans and children from various walks of life, including victims of crime and abuse. The home currently supports over 15 children aged 18 months to 17 years of age.
Fiji Women’s Crisis Center – The FWCC aims to eliminate violence against women in Fiji and the Pacific region. Established in 1984, they provide crisis counselling and legal, medical and other practical support services across the country.
This gesture is a small token of our gratitude. It is our hope that our contribution will make a meaningful impact to those in need, and encourages others to spread kindness, generosity and compassion. Celebrating 15 Years of Savasi Island Resort – Our Story
Did you know this year marks the 15 year anniversary of Savasi Island Resort?
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re taking a moment to reflect on our journey – from our humble beginnings as a basic bed and breakfast, to a world-renowned destination featured in publications like Forbes and National Geographic.
But it’s by no means been an overnight success.
It’s taken a lot of hard work and dedication, commitment, and a willingness to adapt to changing times, especially in the last 3 years. It has been a constant process of evolution and improvement. Analysing customer feedback, monitoring industry trends, and always trying to raise the bar for our guests.
But that hard work, both by our family and our wider team, has enabled us to overcome the many obstacles and emerge as an incredible success story.
Where it all started
When he stumbled on Savasi Island, our founder Paul had a vision of creating a tropical haven for those who wanted to escape from their everyday lives. He believed that Savusavu was the perfect destination to relax, rejuvenate and reconnect with nature. So he poured his heart and soul into the business, as did his family, who still own and operate the business to this day. Over the years, Savasi has welcomed thousands of people from all over the world, and it has been an honour for our team to serve each and every one of you.

We express our heartfelt appreciation for your loyalty and support over the years. We have been blessed to share in your vacation experiences and to create lasting memories for you and your loved ones in Fiji. We can still remember our very first guests and the excitement and nervousness we could barely contain in wanting to make sure the experience at Savasi met their expectations.
