Overview: Spartan, the foremost global brand in endurance sports and wellness, is excited to host the Official Government Launch this week of the Spartan Trifecta Fiji major event, which will be staged in Fiji for the first time over 9th to 12th November 2023.

The Launch was hosted at the Spartan event site, Aviva Race Course in Sabeto, Nadi and was attended by over 100 guests, including the Honorable Minister Viliame Gavoka officiating the event, dignitaries from the Fiji Government, Presenting Partner Fiji Airways, Tourism Fiji, Spartan major partners, representatives of the Landowners and Fiji media.

Introducing the Spartan Trifecta Race Fiji: a thrilling series of obstacle course races that pushes participants to their limits both physically and mentally. Inspired by the ancient Spartans from Greece, these races feature a variety of challenges designed to test endurance, strength, and determination. From scaling walls to conquering mud pits, participants of all fitness levels can choose from different race formats and distances to challenge themselves.

By completing all three iconic Spartan Trifecta Race formats in a single season, participants achieve what is known as the Trifecta. The Trifecta combines the Spartan Sprint, Super, and Beast or Ultra races, and it is symbolised by a unique medal consisting of three interconnected pieces. This singular medal represents the impressive accomplishment of conquering all three challenging races.

Launching the event, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Viliame Gavoka, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We have had a tough couple of years, but the Fijian economy is gradually picking up. For the first half of this year, we have had six consecutive months of year- on-year growth compared to 2019. Our visitor numbers have actually grown 2.5 percent. Visitors are staying longer, spending more and doing more. We want to build on that and give people as many reasons as possible to visit. So as Team Fiji, we are quite excited to host the Fiji Spartan Trifecta for the next three years and welcoming over 2,000 participants from all over the world.”

Spartan also made some exciting announcements including launching a dedicated Fiji Spartan website and local Fiji racers registration platform, the Fiji Airways Teams Challenge for local businesses and groups, along with the Fiji volunteers program and a promotional campaign inviting local schools to bring their students along to participate in the Spartan Kids Day on Friday 10th November – all promotions geared towards the local Fijian community being encouraged to get actively involved in this amazing event at a level that suits them.
