Fiji Airways has announced a major expansion of its Australian network with the launch of new direct flights between the Gold Coast (OOL) and Nadi, Fiji (NAN), with special introductory fares on sale now ahead of the inaugural services on Thursday, 11 June 2026. Operating three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays using the Boeing 737 MAX 8, the new service will provide the Gold Coast community with a faster, more convenient connection to Fiji, while offering Fijians a quicker route to the Gold Coast. The flights will operate in just over three hours and bring an additional 53,000 seats into the market each year.
To celebrate the launch, Fiji’s national carrier is offering special introductory return Lite fares from Fiji to the Gold Coast starting from $799 FJD, available until 31 December 2025. Fares can be booked at FijiAirways.com or through participating travel agents. Offers apply to select travel dates and are available until sold out. Terms and conditions apply.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Paul Scurrah said the new Gold Coast–Nadi route highlights the airline’s ongoing commitment to the Australian market. “The Gold Coast is a natural fit for Fiji Airways. This new direct service strengthens ties between Fiji and Australia, unlocking significant opportunities for both outbound and inbound travel.”

Queensland Airports Limited Chief Executive Officer Amelia Evans said Gold Coast Airport was thrilled the new route would strengthen the special bond between Fiji and the Gold Coast. “We know that Australians love holidaying in the beautiful islands of Fiji, and this new route will make their next getaway even easier,” she said. “We’re also really looking forward to welcoming more Fijians to visit friends and family in Australia — and what better way than to fly direct to the Gold Coast.”
Queensland Tourism Minister Andrew Powell said the Crisafulli Government is proud to support the route through Destination 2045’s Connecting Queensland Fund. “We promised more strategic flights connecting Queensland to the world, and we are delivering,” Minister Powell said. “The Fiji–Gold Coast route opens new pathways through the USA and Canada via Nadi, bringing tens of thousands of travellers right to our doorstep.”
