The renewed agreement marks a significant evolution in a decade-long collaboration, introducing a more strategic and extended framework for joint initiatives. Fiji Airways will support Tourism Fiji through expanded flight services and integrated campaigns, including cobranded marketing, trade engagement, and public relations efforts across major markets such as Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Asia, and the Pacific. This coordinated approach reflects a shift toward precision-driven digital strategies and shared market intelligence, allowing both organisations to better target travellers and respond to changing global tourism trends.
A major focus of the partnership is long-term growth in emerging and high-potential markets, particularly North America. With increased network capacity and ongoing exploration of additional routes, Fiji Airways is positioning the region as a key driver of future visitor numbers. At the same time, both organisations are investing in raising awareness of Fiji as a destination that remains relatively undiscovered for many North American travellers. This effort is supported by new routes, such as the Nadi to Gold Coast service, alongside broader campaigns designed to highlight accessibility and the unique appeal of Fiji.
The collaboration also leverages Fiji Airways’ global partnerships, including its oneworld alliance membership and expanded codeshare agreements, to open access to new and niche markets like the United Kingdom and India. This expanded reach is crucial in supporting Tourism Fiji’s goal of diversifying its visitor base while maintaining strong performance in traditional markets. Given that tourism contributes around 40 percent of Fiji’s GDP and supports approximately one-third of all jobs, the strengthened partnership is not only about increasing arrivals but also about sustaining economic growth and national development.
