The thrushes are a group of passerine birds that occur mainly in the Old World. They are plump, soft-plumaged, small to medium-sized insectivores or sometimes omnivores, often feeding on the ground. Many have attractive songs.
Fun Fact 1: Mimicry
The Island Thrush is its remarkable ability to mimic the calls of other birds and even environmental sounds such as running water or rustling leaves. This mimicry helps it communicate with its surroundings and possibly confuse predators or competitors. Island Thrushes are known for their diverse vocalizations, which add to the rich soundscape of their forest habitats.
