Fiji has entered a new era of adventure tourism with the successful launch of the country’s first multi-day e-bike tour by iBike Fiji. Spanning nine days and eight nights, the inaugural journey began in Viti Levu, with the majority of the experience unfolding on the remote and culturally rich island of Vanua Levu—showcasing a side of Fiji rarely seen by visitors.
In Depth
In collaboration with sustainable tourism operators within the Duavata Collective, the tour reflects a shared mission to expand tourism beyond traditional resort corridors, foster meaningful connections with local communities, and promote low-impact travel. The itinerary blends cycling, ocean and land-based activities, cultural immersion, and a range of accommodation styles—from high-end island eco-stays to authentic village homestays.
Throughout the journey, guests cycled through coastal villages, rainforest interiors, farms, and rural communities; sampled produce at a cacao plantation; joined village hosts for storytelling and cultural traditions; and explored marine environments on snorkelling excursions. The route was designed to highlight the depth, warmth, and diversity of Fiji—its landscapes as well as its people.
Guest feedback reinforces the significance of this new travel style for Fiji. One participant described the experience as “memorable and not something we could have undertaken on our own,” adding that they were “very impressed with the sustainability focus and the opportunity to see the real Fiji.” Another guest called the tour “an incredible product” that combined “flexibility, culture and beautiful scenery,” expressing hope that more travellers will have the opportunity to experience it.

The launch arrives at a time when global demand for active, purpose-driven and culturally meaningful travel is rapidly growing. Multi-day bike tourism is among the fastest-rising adventure segments worldwide, and Fiji’s natural landscapes, warm hospitality, and strong community ties position the nation to become a sought-after destination for this style of travel.
“By travelling slowly and respectfully through communities, visitors engage with Fiji in a deeper, more human way,” explains iBike Fiji’s director, Brad Campbell. “This model spreads economic value into remote areas, supports local businesses, and gives travellers an experience that stays with them long after they leave.”
Following the success of the inaugural tour, iBike Fiji plans to expand departures in 2026, with additional routes and experiences currently in development in partnership with community-based operators committed to cultural integrity and environmental stewardship. This initiative marks a promising new chapter for Fiji’s tourism industry as it continues to evolve toward sustainability, inclusivity, and authentic adventure-led travel.
