The Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay welcomed 160 guests to its annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, 28 November. Families were delighted as Santa made a memorable entrance, gliding across the Momi Lagoon on a flight board before handing out treats to excited children. Entertainment for the evening featured performances by the Momi Village Choir and Suva’s National Youth Band, a successful Ministry of Youth programme supporting musically gifted young people. Community partners from the Daulomani Safe Home also joined in the celebrations.

A Sustainable Ornaments Competition recognised nine student winners from Namata Primary School, Savusavu Primary School, and Ratu Nemani School, with each student receiving a backpack for the 2026 school year. The evening marked the official launch of the resort’s Festive Season at Momi Bay, introducing a range of holiday dining experiences, family activities, cultural events, spa offerings, and the signature Cosmic New Year’s Eve celebration.
