IHG Fiji Hotels secure three Gold wins at 2025 FETA scaled

The Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF)-owned IHG Hotels & Resorts Fiji hotels portfolio secured three Gold awards at the 2025 ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards (FETA), recognising achievements in training, events, and emerging leadership. The awards ceremony, held on 28 February 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort & Spa, highlighted the strong performance of the portfolio, which includes the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific Hotel Suva, and Holiday Inn Suva.

The portfolio received the Gold award for Training and Development, recognising its investment in building local capability and professional development across its hotels. The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa also secured Gold for Conference and Incentive (C&I) Operator of the Year, reflecting its continued leadership in hosting major events and delivering group experiences. In addition, Akshay Chand, Portfolio Director of Information Technology, was named the Rising Star award winner, acknowledging his contribution to innovation and technology across the portfolio.

This year’s awards drew strong industry participation, with local reporting noting 249 registrations and 65 finalists shortlisted, highlighting the competitiveness of the programme. Beyond the three Gold wins, the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa also received a Silver award in the Community CSR category and a Bronze award for Spa InterContinental as Spa Operator of the Year, demonstrating continued focus on community engagement and guest experience.

Lachlan Walker, Regional General Manager for Fiji and the Pacific at IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the recognition reflected the consistency and dedication of teams across the portfolio. He noted the awards also acknowledged the strong partnership with the Fiji National Provident Fund and the ongoing commitment to developing talent, strengthening Fiji’s tourism offering, and supporting local communities. Akshay Chand added that the Rising Star recognition reflects the support of his colleagues and motivates him to continue using technology to improve both guest and team experiences across the FNPF-owned IHG Fiji hotels.
