The “Cup of Kindness” campaign was designed as a practical fundraising model, allowing guests to contribute simply by enjoying services already offered within the hotels. Every Friday throughout March, all coffee sales were fully donated, while a percentage of proceeds from selected food, beverage, and spa offerings added to the total. This approach ensured steady participation and made giving accessible to a wide range of guests.
Daulomani Safe Home, established in 2018, provides shelter and care for vulnerable individuals, including women and children, single mothers, the elderly, people with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and members of the LGBT+ community. The organisation currently supports around 65 residents across two sites, including 17 children, offering not only accommodation but also daily care and a safe environment.
Community shelters like Daulomani often face ongoing challenges in securing basic necessities such as bedding, hygiene supplies, and household items. The funds raised will be used to purchase these priority items directly from the shelter’s needs list, ensuring the support is both targeted and immediately beneficial to residents. This focus on essentials helps maintain safety, dignity, and stability for those in care.
The initiative aligns with IHG’s “Journey to Tomorrow,” a 10-year responsible business plan centred on supporting communities and promoting responsible travel. Leaders involved in the campaign emphasised that hospitality can play a meaningful role beyond guest services, demonstrating how small, everyday actions—like buying a coffee—can contribute to real, measurable impact at the community level.
